The 2019 U Sports football season is well underway across campuses coast to coast! Did you know that GEC helped design the David Braley Athletic Centre (DBAC), the McMaster University Marauders’ high performance training facility in Hamilton? GEC (in association with Garwood-Jones & Hanham Architects) worked collaboratively the University Facilities group and the McMaster Student Union to create the DBAC, which parallels the Ron Joyce football stadium and features a 1,200 retractable seat competition gymnasium, running and sprint tracks, racquet courts, sports medicine facilities, a high performance fitness assessment lab and a climbing wall. Learn more about this project and others by visiting the Play section on our website.

Today, CBC’s The National will be hosting a live panel event discussing the economy and future of Alberta at our recently completed NAIT Productivity and Innovation Centre. The National Conversation is a chance for all Canadians to have their say and ask their questions about the future of Alberta. From oil and gas and pipeline, to the energy sector, to the broader economy. What does the future of Alberta look like, how does it impact the rest of the country, and how can we prepare for the future? Attendees will have a chance to ask questions of Premier Notley, policymakers, analysts and front-line stakeholders with insight into the challenges and opportunities that Alberta faces.
Livestream of the discussion can be viewed on the National’s Facebook page on February 5 at 6:00-7:30 p.m. MT (8:00-9:30 p.m. ET): https://www.facebook.com/thenational/
