Bridging the gap!

The Carburn Park bridge provides a crossing over the Bow River at the South end of the present Carburn Park as an extension of the Bow River pedestrian and cycle path system. Design loadings for the bridge include pedestrian and cycle traffic with provision for police cars and light parks maintenance vehicles.

This structure received a Citation for “Significant contribution to the built environment of Alberta” in the Alberta Association of Architects, 1983, Design Awards, and a Design Award from the Prestressed Concrete Institute for North America in 1983.
