Drumheller Badlands Community Facility

A vibrant community hub of activity, culture and growth.

This community facility is a central hub for the community and surrounding towns to support physical, social, cultural health and well-being. Closely involved in the planning and design, the community ensured the facility met their vision and accommodated the needs of the community and stakeholders. As a multi-functional facility, users can find an indoor activity hall and playing field, state-of-the-art training areas, locker and team rooms, offices and meeting rooms, multi-purpose group rooms, elevated walking track, banquet facility, children’s play area and art gallery.

Taking inspiration from the region’s geologic history, the facility’s horizontal design features symbolize the history of the community and environmental setting. We arranged the programmatic spaces to take full advantage of the picturesque setting of the Red Deer River valley and hoodoo backdrop.
