The David Braley Athletics Centre is a modernization and expansion to the McMaster University Athletic Recreation and Kinesiology Centre at McMaster University, which included a new 4000-seat football stadium that replaced its older venue. The design process was a highly collaborative partnership between the design team (GEC and Garwood-Jones & Hanham), the University Facilities group, and the student union (a major funding partner). 

This multi-sports facility features a high performance fitness centre, which accommodates a double gymnasium equipped with 1,200 seats of retractable seating suitable for international competition in volleyball and basketball; a 4-lane, 200 metre track; a 4 lane, 60-metre sprint track; sports medicine facilities; a varsity athlete high performance fitness assessment lab and training centre; multipurpose studios; varsity consultation rooms; trainers offices; and, varsity and special event lounges. The new facility provides 800 lockers for both men and women’s change rooms.
