COMPLETION 2013

In the process of reviewing its facilities and future requirements, the City of Trail identified a need for a Civic Complex that would consolidate several community functions onto one urban site. The complex accommodates city administration, municipal library, museum and archives, and other shared functional spaces.

GEC Architecture developed the functional program, identifying appropriate multi-use spaces and components to incorporate flexibility, efficiency and affordability. The existing municipal library and museum are under-sized and located in facilities that do not encourage community use. The feasibility study highlights opportunities for enhanced community use including community meeting spaces and access to civic archives.
