The new home of Red Deer's premier spectator arena.
GEC is designing the replacement of the 1360-seat Red Deer Arena, now known as the Servus Arena. The new NHL-regulation arena will host events as part of the 2019 Canada Games and provides all Canada Winter Games requirements for ice hockey. The facility will accommodate a variety of additional activities such as festivals, trade shows and other forms of entertainment.
The new Red Deer Arena will include storage spaces, leasable space for user groups, upper and lower viewing lobby, support rooms, and will display public art/displays highlighting the history of the former facility. To accommodate the varying demographics of teams that will use the space the design features flexible, multi-purpose rooms and facilities that can be reconfigured easily in order to provide a combination of team and community change rooms simultaneously.
